Dear Colleagues,

As I sit down to share my thoughts with you, Mahatma Gandhi’s words ring into my ears “You must be the change that you wish to see in the world” We as a community are instrumental in establishing economic changes in our country. It is an honour for me to be at an elevated level of the Chandigarh branch of the ICAI. I am confident of holding the “Baton of responsibilities” that has been passed on to me, very effectively and earnestly with your support.

Friends, all of us have individual professional and personal targets but they are targeted towards the same goal. Actually all of us are sailing in our own boats but have one point to reach, so why not “create a ship” and win the sea?

We must enhance our vision so as to visualise with a broader perspective and pledge together that we shall add values to each and every assignment that we take up. As per the inspiring words of our dynamic President CA G Ramaswamy--------“ We can not turn away from our social responsibility. Amount of credit from socialisation on the profit & loss account of our life is too astronomical to be paid back and to turn away. We have to give back. We should do this to at least justify our existence. Let us as representatives of accountancy profession, demonstrate our responsible conduct to the world and our conviction to stick to ethics and integrity. Let us be more responsible in everything we do.”

It is time to act up friends, time to be the change that we want to see in the world around us and changes only happen when they are acted upon……….
